There really isn't anything historic in the book, however its a great read. The book was written by Tony Horwitz who travels to the deepest darkest regions of the South to find,extremist re-enactors,mainstream re-enactors an farbs. He finds long lost relatives of confederates, Capitan Wirtz sympathizers,the Gone With The Wind plantations, run ins with ignorance and racism, good ol' boys,Son's of Confederate Veterans and travels with the infamous Rob Hodge on a "Civil Wargasam".

Its an amazing and very entertaining read.

I agree that it is both amazing and entertaining. Made me think the deep south might be a very scary place.
