Whew! What a fun event this one was! Fewer than we expected but still the right number to show them redcoats who's boss! Friday night was balmy and clear - although my head wasn't so much ! Saturday started quietly (the bugler forgot his horn ?) and turned out to be beautiful. We drilled and played around with the Brits - winning the engagement quite soundly for the numbers we had! Saturday evening gave us another battle although this time, we were instructed to attack a brick wall! The officers seemed to have had mis-information but we amused them by following their orders. The fight, nonetheless, resulted in us losing a few good men, shooting Fulton and running for cover! And there was much rejoicing! Following the evening battle, Dennis and Donna held our now traditional evening soiree, at which we were treated to a visit from Snurl and fireworks from across the lake! Lots of fun was had by all. Sunday brought the rain, of course. After a somewhat dripping night, we arose to grey skies and a little rain. It held off for most of the day but said precipitation made the grounds a bit damp. We drilled with the local cadets (who seemed to learn a thing or two about drill - and also taught us!) All in all, a great weekend of play! Thanks to Tim Warnick, Erik Simundson and our very own Col. Mayes for a great weekend of burnt powder and spirits raised. Next year's is the 145th Anniversary of the Fort. Oughta be a good one!

Oh Yeah - even the Great Mellon managed to join us on Saturday night and Sunday. Sight for sore eyes, that! Great so see him though, even without the liquor!
